(More customer reviews)The Flexigrip for iPad I just received in the mail from amazon meets the description on the manufacturers web page (Griffin). The rubber fits snugly enough and there are cutouts for all the controls including the 30 pin connector. The molding on the back is ergonomic - there are right and left side hand grips when holding the iPad with the home button on the bottom. The rubber is thicker in the middle back region (additional cushioning).
The purpose of this item is primarily to help keep the iPad from slipping out of ones hands, hence the name, flex grip. The rubber seems thick enough to afford some protection in a drop. This item doesn't make the iPad bullet proof but it is certainly better than nothing. I might have given it 5 stars if the rubber (actually silicone) had generally been thicker.
It's hard to know if this the best case for the money but so far so good.
