More importantly, the flip cover for dock access is extremely stiff - opening and closing are painful processes. In fact, when I last opened it, I saw that it had nicked the aluminum back of my iPad! Strongly recommend avoiding this case.
In contrast, the Speck Candyshell Batwing case is far preferable to this one; relatively much easier opening dock (though still on the stiff side) and far simpler matter of lifting out the iPad.

It also keeps the port protected when not in use. Please do not attempt to use the flip-back panel as a stand or \'foot" on it\'s own, it is for use only in conjunction with a standing dock.
