(More customer reviews)A lot of "add on" products are unnecessary doodads, but not this little beauty. If you have a cover for your Kindle 2/DX, you need this Smak-Dab NOW. First, its cost is reasonably low, especially given the cost of the Kindle and cover it's protecting. Second, the clip may sound hard to slide on and off, but it isn't. The thermoplastic polymer allows the clip to slide easily on and off without leaving a single mark on your Kindle or cover. I was skeptical about the safety of this thing but not after having used it for two weeks. Third, the tension of the stainless steel material under the polymer is a Goldilocks tension, firm enough to to hold cover in place but not so firm to make the clip is difficult to remove. No more bands around my covered Kindle! This clip prevents loss of the cover. No matter what I do, the cover and the clip stay put. Fourth, if you've broken the spine hinge by opening the back cover in haste (like I have), you'll appreciate straight off how the design of the Smak-Dab prevents that disaster from happening again.
This is one of those products that seem so obvious you can't believe you didn't think of it yourself. But at closer look, it's not so obvious after all: the design not only does what you want it to, it also does so minimally, with no chance of damaging what it protects.
