(More customer reviews)I received a Kindle 3 for Christmas, and since I travel a lot, one of the first things I did was search online for a case. It seems like the official Amazon case is a lot more popular, but I'm so glad I found JAVOedge.
I had some very specific criteria when looking for a case. I wanted a book case (not a flip case or a pouch), something I could leave on all the time, and I wanted something that looked like it was specifically designed for my device rather than a case that had that one-size-fits-all look that seems to be common among third-party cases.
The Amazon brand case has that seamless look I was searching for, but I wanted the non-lighted version to save on cost, and I was discouraged by the negative publicity caused by the restart and freezing problem that was being reported because of the clips.
The JAVOedge case has no clips or metal at all, and it slides snugly into the tailored slot. All the buttons are exposed in the right spots, the speakers are open through mesh in the back, and it makes me feel good to know I have a case that was specially designed for me. There's nothing uglier than those cases that hold the device in with four rubber bands on the corners.
As for this specific JAVOedge, the tweed fabric gives it a very unique look and feel. Like another reviewer said, the leather-like elements of the case are brown and not black, but I was actually more happy with the dark chocolate color than I would have been with black when the case came in. For a 30-year-old guy, the style is exactly what I was looking for.
The business card holder and paper flap are cool little extras, as is the pen holder on the spine. But keep in mind, only the small BIC-style pens are going to fit.
The case snaps shut with a magnet on the top corner and is secure when locked in. The outside has a little plushness so it can absorb shocks. It's sturdy enough to provide solid protection without adding very much bulk.
I forgot to say this earlier, but I like the book style because it still feels like I'm reading a paper book. JAVOEDGE has some great-looking products for all ages. I would recommend their cases to everyone, and I feel like with this tweed case, I really found a hidden gem.
I've never written a review before, but I feel like JAVOedge deserves the praise.
