(More customer reviews)This is a simple neoprene zipper case with a pocket in the front. The only protection given is from the single layer of neoprene (or in the area covered by the pocket, two layers of neoprene). It seems fine for protecting the PRS 950 from dirt and dust, or small objects in a bag or backpack, but there's essentially no protection from falls or even from accidental button pushes when being jostled.
In addition the case obviously was not designed for the PRS-950. It's about an inch too wide, and is just barely long enough -- the inner seams on the end press on the edge of the Sony Reader when it's in the case. Not a terrible fit, but not great either.
But you get what you pay for, and this was cheap when I bought it. I received it today, and I see the price has already gone up on Amazon.com. I had hoped to avoid having to pay for Sony's own basic cover for this device (which is ridiculously overpriced), but it looks like I will have to go ahead and buy it. I think Sony's zipperless cover might work well in conjunction with this neoprene case.
Bottom line: this is adequate for what it is, but it isn't much.
Edit: (12/27/10) I see the price has increased yet again. Now the price is simply ridiculous. I don't recommend buying this case at all unless it's very cheap. Spring for the BookArmor zipper case instead. I think you won't regret it.
