The color is a deep purple in the violet/blue range, it is well stitched with rounded corners, deeply embossed leather. They can't fake the smell of real leather and you can tell it is real leather.
No struggle to slide the Kindle into the case. The cover has a magnetic closure so it won't pop open. No worry about the Kindle flopping around or falling out of the case. No worries about elastic straps or attachment clip pins breaking. The whole feel is like a nicely bound book.
All the ports and the Kindle keyboard are easily to use, none are covered by the case, and the Kindle can be recharged without removing the case. They have even build in special mesh covers for the speakers so the sound will not be muffled. Like any quality made leather wallet. It has interior pockets for identification and note pad, and a place for a pen...although I don't know that I want a pen in the case, as it would probably over time bulge the leather cover, or press against the forward and back page keys on the Kindle.
With this model the front of the case cannot be folded back behind the Kindle without damaging or putting a crease in the leather binding. That is not a problem for me, but it might be for someone who wants a case where the front cover folds behind when using the Kindle.
